SCREEN PRINTING FAQs
Frequently asked questions about screen printing
What is Screen Printing?
Screen Printing, often referred to as Silk Screening, is a printing process using mesh screen coated in photosensitive emulsion with a rubber squeegee to imprint your image onto a range of mediums. This is often done in layers, using a single ‘screen’ for each color within the artwork.
Will the Print Last?
As long as we print and cure it correctly (and we promise we will), it’ll probably outlast the actual shirt! You may see a little bit of fading and cracking over time after many washes, so mileage may vary.
What Can You Screen Print Onto?
We can Screen Print onto a wide variety of garments and apparel, including;
– T-Shirts
– Hoodies/Sweats
– Pants/Tracksuits
– Koozies
– Bags
– Totes
– Work Wear
– Active Wear
Generally, anything we can fit on our press, we’ll print.
If you have a question regarding a particular item and whether or not we could print on it, email or call our friendly team and we’ll be able to help you out.

Do You Need Me to Supply a Design?
Is There a Minimum Required to Order?
Yes, we request at least a 12 shirt minimum per design for all jobs in our shop.
Can I Mix And Match Shirt & Ink Colors?
Yes. Different shirt colors are ok as long as the ink colors are the same. If we need to change ink colors additional fees will apply. Please note Dark Garments Flashing: All dark garments will require a second color for the flash. As such, please price the next color column for all dark garments.
What Is “Single Hit” Vs. “Double Hit?”
Single hit refers to a screen-printed design printed once as a single layer of ink. Double hit refers to a single color being printed twice for 2 layers of ink. Sometimes, customers choose to double hit light colored inks on dark garments (white ink on black tees for example) to make sure the the print is very bright and vibrant. Others prefer a single hit for a softer print feel and more muted, vintage look. Double hit usually refers to single color prints, for multi-color prints we call it an underbase (white print layer under color print layers on dark garments).
Can I Mix Shirt Sizes & Do I Need To Order In Dozens?
You can order as many different shirt sizes as you want per dozen.
How Do You Estimate Screen Printing Pricing?
Our screen printing service pricing is based on four major criteria.
- Number of items – Effectively, this is the number of garments.
- Number of Print locations – Speaks for itself
- Number of colors– Simply put, this is the total number of colors in the design
- Specialty Services – Finishing and add-on services such as foil, heat seal or additives.
- Garments Pricing Is Seperate And Additional.
